cPanel is widely used and popularly recognized as the leading webhosting control panel globally. It offers a user-friendly interface for managing various website components such as DNS, emails, databases, web servers, PHP, and other essential webhosting features. WebHostingPeople ensures that all cPanel functionalities are readily available for our customers, including unlimited domain hosting, email accounts, and databases. Unlike most webhosting providers, we provide comprehensive cPanel features. Our Standard Web Hosting package includes the cPanel control panel, enabling a seamless migration process between cPanels. If you already have a Standard Hosting package with us, you can easily migrate your website from BlueHost to WebHostingPeople using your BlueHost-associated cPanel. This tutorial assumes you have an existing Standard Hosting package with us. Let’s proceed with the step-by-step guide to migrate your website from BlueHost to WebHostingPeople.

The first step is to log in to your BlueHost control panel. You can access BlueHost’s cPanel interface through either of the following URLs. Make sure that your domain is correctly pointing to your BlueHost webhosting account and replace example.com with your specific domain name.

http://example.com/cpanel or http://cpanel.example.com

Alternatively, you can access the cPanel interface through your client portal. To access your BlueHost client area, please visit https://my.bluehost.com/web-hosting/cploginaccess.

Steps for cPanel to cPanel Migration

1. Download cPanel Backup from BlueHost

1) First, log in to your BlueHost cPanel account.

2) Scroll down to the File Management section and click on “Site Backup Pro.” Despite the “Pro” label, don’t worry, as you can still use the free basic version.

5) When prompted to download a backup, choose a date from the drop-down menu. Select the appropriate backup date you wish to utilize. Next, choose the compressed file format you prefer, such as .tar or .zip. If unsure, opt for .zip, as all modern operating systems can open this file format.

6) The tool will then begin preparing your files. Once complete, a dialog box with a link to download your files will appear.

2. Upload cPanel Backup to WebHostingPeople

Once you’ve downloaded the cPanel backup, proceed to upload it to your WebHostingPeople cPanel account. You can choose to use either cPanel’s File Manager feature or an FTP client like FileZilla. For guidance on transferring files using FileZilla, please refer to our Knowledge Base article at https://www.WebHostingPeople.net/tips/kb/using-filezilla-to-upload-a-website/.

After completing the upload, open a support ticket to initiate the restoration process. Our support team will handle the restoration for you. To open a ticket, visit your Client Portal at https://my.WebHostingPeople.net >> Support >> Open New Ticket. If you only need to restore a specific domain, please clearly specify this in your ticket. Our support team will promptly respond through the ticket system regarding the cPanel migration.
