How to Disable Mass Mail in Joomla?

Mass emails are something you need to send no matter what kind of website you own. If you are running a blog, you have to send mass emails after you publish a new piece of content on your blog. If you are running a SaaS company, you need to send mass emails after launching new features. And if you are running an E-commerce store, you need to send mass emails for discounts and offers.

However, mass emails can be abused. Sometimes, you have to disable mass emails in your system to stop spam. It is because mass emails are prone to spam. If you send a lot of emails from your servers, Gmail and other big Email service providers can flag your IP address. After that, your Emails will arrive in the spam folder.

The good news is, you can disable mass emails in Joomla directly from the admin panel. If you have admin access to your Joomla site, it is just a two-minute process. So, Let’s get started.

Disable Mass Emails in Joomla

To disable mass emails, click on the System -> Global Configuration given in the main menu just like the following image. It will redirect you to a page where you can update all the essential settings of your site.

In the server settings, find out the Mail Settings section and set the option to Yes in an option with Disable Mass Mail label.

Finally, click on the Save button given on the top-left corner of the page to save changes.

So, this is how you can disable Mass Mail in Joomla. It is good to keep it disabled if you don’t regularly send mass emails to your customers. But if you are using the SMTP server, you do not have to worry about disabling mass mail.
