How to effectively manage and set up Patchman in the cPanel

Patchman is an automated tool for detecting and patching malware. It acts proactively on your server. Currently, Patchman can detect many security vulnerabilities found in widely-used CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla. If the user does not take any action, Patchman will automatically patch these vulnerabilities within a few days. The software will send alerts about these vulnerabilities via email. Additionally, on compromised accounts, Patchman can detect any uploaded malware and quarantine it automatically. Download the Patchman installation script from their website by executing the following commands:

# cd /usr/local/src

# wget https://download.patchman.co/install-patchman.sh

Once the script is downloaded, run it to install Patchman on your cPanel server.

# bash -e install-patchman.sh

This will prompt for a registration key, which you will receive upon purchasing a license from their website.

After the installation is complete, you will see a message saying “Installation completed. Patchman is now installed and running!”

Next, you need to approve the new server on your Patchman portal account to enable scanning on your server.

Once everything is set up, you can easily manage Patchman through the cPanel interface. To access Patchman’s dashboard, go to your cPanel –> Advanced, and you will find the Patchman icon.

Now, you can view the Patchman dashboard, where you can see malware detections on your websites and take appropriate actions.
