Error While Adding Addon Domain in cPanel
You have the ability to host multiple independent domains in a single cPanel account by adding these domains as addon domains. An addon domain acts as an independent domain with a separate document root within your cPanel account.
How to create an addon domain:
To add a new domain as an addon domain in your cPanel account, first, log in to your cPanel account and click on the “Addon Domains” option under the DOMAINS section.
Next, enter the domain name you want to host as an addon domain in the “New domain name” field.
Even though you are hosting the domain as an addon domain, cPanel treats it as a subdomain. When adding the addon domain, cPanel will generate a subdomain and a document root similar to the new addon domain name.
Sometimes, you may encounter an error while adding a new domain as an addon domain. If you receive the following error, please follow the steps below to resolve the error and successfully add the domain to your cPanel account:
“Unable to determine the nameserver IP address for ‘domain.com’.”
The first thing you need to ensure is that the domain you are adding is registered with a valid domain registrar.
Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
1) Login to WHM.
2) Go to Home >> Server Configuration.

3) Select the ‘Tweak Settings’ icon.

4) Click on the ‘Domains’ tab. Locate the option ‘Allow unregistered domains’ and enable it.
